The Nano Clean CleanCell 3.x Customised Cleanroom provides an adaptable, cost effective, short-leadtime, modular panel ISO 14644-1 classified Cleanroom environment for manufacturing, process, production, assembly, packing, sterile compounding, development or research applications.

As a rule of thumb, for the Nano Clean CleanCell 3.x Customised Cleanroom cleanliness classification we can consider the following air change rates as a starting point:
- ISO Class 9: >10 AC/H (non-unidirectional flow)
- ISO Class 8: >15 AC/H (non-unidirectional flow)
- ISO Class 7: >30 AC/H (non-unidirectional flow)
- ISO Class 6: >60 AC/H (non-unidirectional flow)
- ISO Class 5: >120 AC/H (non-unidirectional flow)
- ISO Class 5: 0.3m/s (unidirectional flow)
- ISO Class 4: 0.45m/s (unidirectional flow)
The project design review process will establish the appropriate air change rate to satisfy cleanliness and temperature control requirements, considering:
- Cleanliness classification
- Occupancy state
- Filtration efficiency
- Personnel contamination load
- Process contamination load
- Make-up air source
- Process Heatgain
- Extract losses
The Nano Clean CleanCell 3.x Customised Cleanroom layout can be optimised to suit the process/facility requirements with multiple Cleanzones, Gowning Lobbies and Material Airlocks.
The Nano Clean CleanCell 3.x Customised Cleanroom ceiling height can be optimised to suit the process/facility requirements.
Four standard panel heights enable internal ceiling heights of:
- Up to 2.4m
- Up to 2.7m
- Up to 3.0m
- Up to 3.6m
Where process requirements demand, ceiling heights of >3.6m can be facilitated with customised modular panels.
The Nano Clean Clean-Cell 3.x Customised Cleanroom structure is formed from a free-standing, self-supporting, pre-engineered modular panel system.
- Modular Wall Panels
The modular wall panels are installed on site to the floor plan layout.
Depending on budget and application requirements we offer:
- Single skin steel panels (semi-flush internally)
- Double skin steel panels (semi-flush)
- Double skin panels (flush finish)
- Doors
Personnel and materials access is provided by:
- Single doors - hinged or sliding
- Double doors - hinged or sliding
- Vertical rapid roll doors
- Windows
Glazing is provided in selected wall modules to satisfy operation requirements. In facilities where ultraviolet light is a concern, UV control film is applied to the affected windows and door vision panels.
- Floor Finish
Where the existing floor finish is not adequate, the Nano Clean Clean-Cell 3.x Customised Cleanroom can be supplied with a supplementary Cleanroom floor finish. The supplementary Cleanroom floor finish can be formed from:
- Interlocking vinyl tiles
- Welded sheet vinyl
- Epoxy screed
- Raised access tiles (with airflow perforations for higher grade Cleanroom return air).
For processes where electrostatic discharge control is a required, anti-static/ESD flooring can be provided, with copper earthing foil connected to earth potential.
- Ceiling System
The Nano Clean Clean-Cell 3.x Customised Cleanroom ceiling is formed from a suspended grid with infill tiles, light fittings and terminal HEPA filtration.
Where practicable, the ceiling can be suspended from the parent building soffit. if not, cold rolled steel C channel members can be installed, supported from the modular panel structure to suspend the ceiling grid. Cold rolled steel C channel members enable a clear span of approximately 6m. For spans >6m, intermediate columns can be provided. To mitigate internal columns a primary steelwork structural can be installed.
Ceiling grids can be formed from:
- Light-duty non-walkable pressed steel teebar
- Medium-duty non-walkable extruded aluminium teebar
- Heavy-duty walkable extruded aluminium grid for maintenance access
Ceiling tiles will be selected for the application from:
- Plastic faced gypsum board (non-walkable)
- Aluminium faced composite panel (non-walkable)
- Single skin steel panel (non-walkable)
- Walkable steel panel (walkable)
- Steel composite panel (walkable)
The Nano Clean CleanCell 3.x Customised Cleanroom will be configured with an air handling system designed to satisfy the process environmental criteria.
- Air Handling & Conditioning
Single pass fan filter modules will provide a clean environment with positive differential pressure.
To add comfort temperature control for operator personnel, sensible cooling can be integrated in the design.
To add close control for process requirements, heating, cooing, dehumidification and humidification can be integrated in the design.
Cooling medium:
- Fresh air free cooling

- Handwash Stations
Handwash facilities can be provided in the Gowning Lobby, connecting to parent building foul drain, mains cold water and domestic hot water, comprining:
- Stainless steel sink/trough
- Infrared operated mixer tap
- Soap dispenser
- Hot air hand drier or paper towel dispenser
- Process Services
Process services can be integrated with the Nano Clean CleanCell 3.x Customised Cleanroom, including:
- Fume extraction
- Carbon filtered fume/odour control
- Process pipework
- Fire Protection
The parent building fire protection system can be extended to serve the Nano Clean CleanCell 3.x Customised Cleanroom, with:
- Range pipework
- Sprinkler heads
Wet fire protection sprinkler systems are intended to save lives, protect property and enabled production continuity. In a Cleanroom environment the risk profile can be compounded by the nature of the process equipment. Bespoke process equipment can be ruined by the sprinkler water intended to save the asset. In this situation a double knock pre-action sprinkler system can provide reassurance that the sprinkler system discharge is in response to a confirmed risk.
- Fire Suppression
Inert gas fire suppression can provide a practical alternative to wet sprinkler fire protection when protecting Cleanrooms with specialist assets.
The Nano Clean CleanCell 3.x Customised Cleanroom electrical installation will be self contained, taking a suitably rated mains power connection from the parent building.
- Electrical Distribution
A dedicated local distribution board (DB) rated for the design load will be provided, with:
- Individual outgoing circuits protected by MCB
- Earth leakage protection to the incoming mains supply
Electrical distribution wiring from the DB to the field equipment will be housed in an appropriate containment system of cable tray, trunking or conduit.
- Small Power Outlets
Single phase electrical socket outlets will be installed on surface mounted white PVC trunking.
- Lighting
Luminaire fittings can be either:
- LED flat panel
- LED teardrop
Selected luminaires will be equipped with a 3-hour battery pack to provide emergency lighting in the event of a mains power failure.
Light fitting density, lumen output and colour temperature will be selected to achieve the required lighting level at the appropriate working plane.
In facilities where ultraviolet light is a concern, yellow light (low UV) LED gear can be selected.
- Control System
The control system will be based around a BMS outstation for facilities with close control. Control cables will be installed from the control panel to the field control devices.
- Access Control
Access management traffic lights and/or door interlocks can be provided.
- Fire Detection
The parent building fire detection system can be extended to serve the Nano Clean CleanCell 3.x Customised Cleanroom, with:
- Sensors
- Call points
- Sounders
- Beacons
- Plant shutdown interface
The Nano Clean CleanCell 3.x Customised Cleanroom can be provided with ancillary furniture and equipment, including:
